More Butterflies

This card I copied from SCS and it was iSTAMP who created it. It just appealed to me when I saw it and so when Mom's birthday came around it fit for her because she is a very outdoor garden type lady who will be 81! As a matter of fact, I got a store card for my dad this Father's day and when I called him he said "Did you quit making cards?" which made me feel AWFUL because he sounded like would have much rather had the hand made one. Lesson learned. Guilt stored. MAKE the cards! It is incredibly wonderful to hear when your created cards are appreciated so much more than store bought! Thanks for the inspiration on this one, Nancy!

Embossed Flair

I made this card for my brother. I used vanilla cardstock and clear embossed French Flair then smear-sponged Early Espresso over it.

I got a JOB!

I just got back from my second interview and HIRE at Curves! I start Wednesday and they gave me 2 super cute tees and I bought the brown one because, well, it has BLING! And it looks like a card I will make. Yippee!!! I cannot believe how excited I am about this job. I hope I am considered an asset to the company in a very short time!

Well Scripted Butterfly

I got the idea for this card from The Stampin' Bean blog. This card is great for "Oh my goodness, I need a card NOW!" because it literally takes 2 minutes to make.

Hydrangeas

I had a Celebrating Home party on Thursday and one of my friends brought these GORGEOUS hydrangeas to me as a hostess gift. I love hydrangeas because they are a very pompous and flamboyant flower and they remind me so of my late grandmother. Thank you so much, Heather. I truly love them. =]

Paperlicious CASE

I originally saw this card on Paperlicious and think it is a fantastic quick and easy card. It's pretty and I wanted to share what I stole. =] Get a bright cardstock and dry emboss a white piece and embellish with inks the same color as was selected for the bright cardstock! EASY!!! You may have to click on the pictures to see the embossing better.

Pool Pretties

Hi there! I have been busy around here looking for a job and I hate it! Job searching is such a soul exposing activity. I have put in many aps around town and the last few I did I gave them big puppy dog eyes going for the pity hire. I don't think it worked because I haven't heard from ANY of them! Argh. This weekend I decided to quit waiting around for a job to call and I got real cozy with my pool which made me think about the beach babe cards (see Debi's originals here) so I made a couple to entice my friends to come visit and also made one for Penny who is getting a pool built in her backyard right now and she is giving us a step by step process on her blog! Go check it out because if you've never seen a pool put in it is worth taking a look! (Sorry if I ruined the card surprise, Penny, but you will soon have it in your hot little hands. Smoochies!!)

Trimmed Trees

Wow! We had the palms in the back trimmed over the weekend and it looks bare back there now! The top 4 photos are before and after shots and the last three are after the trim. At least the pool will get some extra sun. It looks so much better than it did even if it is VERY nekkid! The trimmers left such a mess in the pool and it took me a few hours to get it back to this color but so worth it. I was also very tempted to give my DH a little push when he was testing the water. *grin*

Bella Bleu

Two cards with a common idea. This is a very easy, quick and pretty card - those three things in one card can only mean that it is a winner. I love it's simple elegance. Two lucky ladies in Texas will receive these for their early June birthdays. Hope they like them and I hope you do, too!
