Floral Anniversary

Here is the other card I promised! I am loving my Memorial Day weekend. This card is for a friend back home in Texas. She's been married to the same guy for oh, let's say a long wonderful time, which in this day and age is an accomplishment in itself! Congrats, friend!

Happy Floral

Today we are going to a party that advertised itself as a "housewarming, the pool is finished, Memorial Day, it's Saturday let's party" party so it had to be a happy everything card to me. Here is the finished product and I'll post another version of this one tomorrow or Monday.

Stamps: Floral, Happy Everything
Inks: Basic Black, Purely Pomegranate
Paper: Whisper White, Purely Pomegranate
Extras: Purely Pomegranate Polka Dot Ribbon, sponging, Dimensionals

Thank You My Friend

A little thank you note to a friend of mine. She helped my mom in Texas out with a couple of free TVs. Mom's had been struck by lightening and was not in black and white or color it was just green. Speaking of colors, I'm sad that some of the SU! colors are retiring but I do understand the need for change and new colors as I'm sure Mom was getting tired of green. If you want the script to be less dominant just ink up your stamp, stamp it on your mat paper then stamp your card. I will try the subtle approach on my next card.

Stamps: Floral, French Script, Short & Sweet, Blossoms Abound
Ink: Lovely Lilac, Almost Amethyst, Basic Black, Always Artichoke, Wild Wasabi
Paper: Whisper White, Lovely Lilac, Always Artichoke
Extras: Sponging, Small and Medium Punches, Dimensionals, Ribbon (from an old shirt)

Woohoo! Way To Go Michael!

For those of you who don't know - I am a huge Biggest Loser fan. This season I loved Michael Ventrella (the largest man ever) because of his great personality and humor. He cracked me up on several episodes and weighing 526 at the beginning and losing an amazing 262 at the finale was just phenomenal to me. I so wanted him or Ashley (the largest amount lost by a lady ever on BL) to win because they were both genuine all the way from episode 1 to last night and by golly Mike won! YAY! For before and after pics of all the contestants go here!

Punchy Beach Babe

LOL! Debi is the original creator of this bodacious beach babe. She is so creative and talented! I could not wait to make one. I mean, isn't this beach babe just too cool for school? She's made entirely with punches and this one goes to a lady back in Texas who had back surgery. Hope she can escape the real world for a while with this beach cutie.

Beautiful Blog Award

Seriously? I am so psyched about receiving these awards! My friend Michelle at Pink Paper Paradise gave this to me tonight and I am thrilled!

I see that along with being given this award I must tell you 10 things about myself . . .

1. I jog 1 mile each morning but take the weekends off.
2. I am hooked on Jillian Michaels and her workouts are making a definite difference in my physique. Love her. Hate her. Love her.
3. I cannot eat raisins because they look like ticks to me and I assume the pop they make when bitten would be realistic to biting a tick so they really gross me out. * shudder * bleh *
4. I don't like to watch TV unless it has been DVR-ed. Hate commercials.
5. I like 2 and a Half Men, Ghost Hunters and my fav is Biggest Loser. Come on Michael or Ashley! It will probably be Koli or Daris that wins though.
6. I love to cook.
7. I have a cat and a dog. The dog jogs with me each morning.
8. I've never been to Spain.
9. I have a major paper craft addiction.
10. It is impossible for me to see a frog and not pick it up. I know . . . but I can't help it.

I cannot believe that you people like my blog - really like it enough to give me awards. I feel special every time I get one and now I must pass along the euphoria to 10 of my favs! They are:

1. Penguin Stamper
2. Sweet Pea Bunny
3. Paperlicious
4. The Stampin' Bean
5. All Things Pink and Fluffy
6. Simplicity by Late Blossom
7. Me My Stamps and I
8. Stamp With Heather
9. Let's Create
10. Studio 52

Thanks again, Michelle! I really appreciate this award. You made me happy.

63 Calorie Brownie

I have been watching Cook Yourself Thin on Lifetime and had to go buy the blasted cookbook because everything looks so good and I wanted to know if everything they yummed about was really as good as they made it out to be so I've been doing a bit of cooking lately and it turns out that the recipes that I have made are yummy. This brownie in particular is from the Cook Yourself Thin Faster book and it is soo chocolaty and I love it. My husband thinks it's gross because it has more of a dark chocolate flavor and it's not full of all sorts of stuff that tastes good but is very bad. I am actually ok with him not liking them because that means I GET THEM ALL! =P Mwah, love these!

Hello Baby

Isn't this cute? It is so simple but I love it. I haven't made a punch card since Christmas so I went through my 3 ring folders that hold a copy of every stamp set I own and this card emerged. Obviously it is for a baby boy but change the colors to a pink and a baby girl's parents would love it, too!

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes, All in the Family
Inks: Bashful Blue, Basic Black, Blush Blossom
Paper: Bashful Blue, Whisper White
Extras: 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Bashful Blue Grosgrain Ribbon

Watercolor Get Well

I loved Pink Pirouette when it first came out and have used it sparingly but after it was announced that it is now a core color I can use it and throw caution to the wind!!! HA! Ha ha! This card is for a lady back in Texas who broke her leg last Friday. Not only has she hobbled herself but she has a 1 year old at home to tend to also. Can you imagine? Wow. I hope she's a quick healer!

Stamps: Watercolor Trio, Sincere Salutations
Inks: Soft Suede, Whisper White Craft
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede, Whisper White
Extras: Large Oval, Scalloped Oval and Medium Oval Punches, Whisper White Embossing Powder, Ribbon and Chocolate Pearls from Michael's

Get Whale Silly

Here's a quick and easy card for you. I was notified that one of the ladies in my group has a little girl that was attacked by the family's 8 month old Great Dane in April and she needs some cheering. Hopefully this will help some.

Stamps: Silly Sea Life, Pun Fun
Ink: Basic Black, Soft Sky, Tempting Turquoise, Versa Mark
Paper: Soft Sky, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White

Hen Egg

I have been absent for a couple of days and here is the reason why. I am painting the master area of the house - bathroom, bathing area, bedroom - and went to take these blinds down but when I pulled the string to pull the blinds up to remove them they came down and whacked me on the forehead! They were obviously set to stun because I was seriously stunned and not sure if I was hurt or not so I sat for a moment and decided I wasn't so bad and continued painting but the next day I had such a headache after doing a little housework that I think I have/had a slight concussion so today I am just gonna go grocery shopping and then hang out in the craft room and create. Ah, the perils of painting! =p

Birthday Silhouettes

I had to try something a little different than the norm so I decided to clear emboss the images then punch out a design and brayer over it. I like the effect and it make for another quick card! I may go back and add a few sticky rhinestones. Hmmm.

Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes, It's Your Birthday
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal, Pacific Point
Paper:
Whisper White
Extras:
Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon

Birthday Spirits

A clean and simple card comes in handy when one puts off making a card until the last minute possible. This is a quickie I stamped together in about 5 minutes and it doesn't suck! ;] I don't think it does anyway. If you do then I hope it is not addressed to you for your birthday and if it is I hope that it will grow on you.

Stamps: Kindred Spirits,Sincere Salutations
Paper: Kraft
Ink: Almost Artichoke, Soft Suede
Extras: Gray Sticky Rhinestones
