Taking a Vaca

As much as I hate to leave my little stamping room I must for a few days, well 15 to be exact. I am going to travel to Louisiana for a few days then head to Texas for a few more all to visit family and friends. I just hope I can squeeze everybody into the short time frame I have. When I get back I promise I will make some cute stuff for you. In the meantime, if you just want to leave a note feel free to do so and I'll catch up with everybody when I return! Hugs! ~Robin

Some Bunnies

This stamp is from Michael's dollar stamp bin. I thought it was too cute to pass up and when I found these tiny pompoms in my stamping stash, well a match was made. It's kind of funny, in a sad addict sort of way, that I can find things in my stamping stash that I didn't remember buying but when I do find it and it helps me make a keeeyooot card, then it doesn't matter that I may have a touch of memory loss. Wait a minute, what was I talking about anyway?

Stamps: Michael's dollar bin Bunnies
Inks: Basic Black
Paper: Whisper White, Pink Pirouette DSP
Extras: Pink Pirouette Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Pom Poms, Dimensionals

Soho Le Jardin

This card was born because I saw something in a magazine and thought wow, that would make a pretty card. I love So Saffron and Bashful Blue together with Very Vanilla. I don't think they would go so great with Whisper White but you know me, I'll have to try it now. I think I may need to make the DSP side a little wider next time and cover a little more of the script. Or do something different then the brad as the focal point. Or, well, I'll show you when I do it!

Stamps:Teeny Tiny Wishes, French Script
Inks: So Saffron, Bashful Blue
Paper: Very Vanilla, Le Jardin DSP
Extras: Bashful Blue Grosgrain Ribbon, Large and Small Oval Punches,Dimensionals, Soho Designer Hardware

New revised version of Houndstooth Purse tutorial

The original post for this little gift purse was a little confusing to me when I needed to make another one and had to read my own instructions. I took some photos and made changes to the instructions and hope it will be easier to follow. =/

Here's how to make one:
8-1/2" x 11" (2) one for the Bigz Top Note Die
6" x 4-1/2" DSP
Brads (3)
Hodgepodge Hardware Knocker w/ Brad
Rhinestone Brad
Jumbo Eyelets
Cropodile
Top Note Die Cut
Big Shot
Sticky Strip
SNAIL
Paper Piercer
16" Ribbon
Circle Punches

Take an 8-1/2 x 11 piece of card stock and cut off a 3" X 11" strip and score 1/4" along the 11" sides. Score at 3-1/4 " from each end and snip where the corners will meet.

Taper the edges from 1/4" at the bottom to about 3/8" at the top so the top of the purse with the flap will be a little thinner than the bottom.

Attach a jumbo eyelet on either side to make the handle.

Place Sticky Strip on the outside edges.

Take the 5-1/2" x 11" piece and score at 4 -1/4 " from each end.

Cut the top (from 1/2" in at the top) at a diagonal to the score to make the angle on the sides.

Center and adhere the 3" x 11" to the inside of the 5-1/2" x 11" piece.

Use the Top Note die cut for the flap and front decoration.

Trim the 'stitched' part off the hounds tooth or piece that will lie on top of the solid Top Note die cut.

Sponge the hounds tooth piece edges with Basic Black ink and the base color should be sponged with it's color (Ballet Blue on Ballet Blue) then adhere together.

Score the die cut at about 1/2" and 2-1/4" then attach the 1/2" part to the back of the purse with 3 brads.

Adhere the other set of Top Note Die Cuts to the front of the purse.

Use a piece from the Hodgepodge hardware for the flap closure hook and a brad for the front of the purse closure post.

Cut the ribbon to 16" and tie knots on the inside of the jumbo eyelets to secure.

Be sure to cover the brads on the inside of the purse with a narrow strip of card stock and circle punched card stock to cover the one in the front and the one behind the flap!

Decorate and fill with a gift or chocolate would be nice, too.

Feel free to make one and send it full of yummy chocolate to ME! I love surprises.

Seeing Rhinestone Spots

OK. I'll admit that I need to quit CASE-ing so much but dang you people are talented! I saw this idea at Simplicity over there --> and ran to my craft room to make my version. Color schemes can sometimes come from THE weirdest places. When I saw these colors together I decided I had to design a card with them and I was right. This card is oozing with eye friendliness and the softness it exudes begs you to keep it on the mantle where everyone can see it. Wow. I think I may love this one . . . Thanks, Susan! Oh yeah, I got the color scheme for this card from my Shark floor steamer. =]

Stamps: Seeing Spots, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Lavender Lace
Paper: Lavender Lace, Whisper White, Basic Gray

Upsy Fever

I think the little bee from Farm Fever is just the cutest little bee ever so when I found out some one in my family needed a get well card I got busy with the bee! My little sister has to have surgery Friday and I made this little bee note to keep her cheery when she gets home. I popped him up with a dimensional and coated his wings in Crystal Effects. The bright colors make it a happy card to me. If you can't see it - the Upsy Daisy is embossed.

Stamps:Upsy Daisy, Flight of the Butterfly, Farm Fever
Inks: Versa Mark, Basic Black, Stampin' Write Yoyo Yellow Marker, Summer Sun

Silver Butterfly

Ok a post or 2 back I did this card and liked it but didn't just fall over backwards in love with it BUT I did another and this one I may just have to keep on my desk and take deep breaths that cleanse and reassure me that yes, every now and again I can make a lovely card. (Even if it is a case!) I really like the way that any color looks great for this card.

Stamps: Flight of the Butterfly, It's Your Birthday, Sincere Salutations
Inks: Versa Mark
Paper:
Whisper White, Pretty in Pink
Extras: Silver Brads, Pretties Half Pearls, Silver or Winter White Embossing Powder, Butterfly Punch, Rhinestone Brads, Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder

Flower Spots

I am always trying to make something that is simple yet still appealing and if you have been surfing my blog you know how hard that really is for my bling happy fingers. However, I think I made a good attempt at simple today. The flower circles are popped up with dimensionals. This card takes about 5 minutes from cutter to envelope and we all LOVE it when we can whip out some cute and extra quick cards. In fact, I made 10 today and they are all in different colors so if you have a birthday soon (sorry to ruin the surprise) you know what your card will look like. Thanks for visiting me and I do appreciate comments. *smile*

Stamps: Seeing Spots and Eastern Blooms
Inks: Bashful Blue and Bravo Burgundy
Paper: Whisper White
Embellishments: Bashful Blue and Bravo Burgundy Grosgrain Ribbon, 1" Circle Punch on Eastern Blooms ans 1-1/4" Circle Punch on Seeing Spots

Birthday Flight

This card is so pretty in person. I tried to get the best shot to show the details and I hope they do show well enough but if you need to you can click on the photo and make it big. Now when you do make it big you will notice some rhinestone stickies in odd places and I can explain. I thought it would look cool to color some of the centers black but when I saw it done I HATED it! lol. So out came the stickies again and covered them up. Then I thought it still needed a little something and out came the half pearl Pretties. When I finally made myself stop I was pleased with the 'finished' card. I seriously can way over-embellish a card. Just check out my Groovy card from an earlier post (November 2009) and I will never have to explain myself again. This is a very easy card and can be used for many sentiments. It would make a lovely sympathy card made in soft pastels. I saw an example of this card here ->

She used a pale blue card and I thought it needed to be black. =]

Things You Need To Make the Accordion Purse

Card Stock:
6" x 11"
6" x 7"
4" x 10" (2)
4" x 5-3/4" (4)
1-1/2" x 11"

DSP:
5-1/2" x 9-1/2"
3-1/2" x 5-1/2"
3-1/2" x 10" (2)
1" x 11"

Take the 6" x 11" and 5-1/2" x 9-1/2" papers and corner round one end on each. Line up the papers on the rounded end and adhere only the rounded portion for now because we have to add the handle in a minute but we have to score this first! Starting at the non rounded end score at 1", 5" and 8".
Adhere the 1" x 11" to the 1-1/2" x 11" piece. Score 1" from each end. You may now adhere this to the first piece where the top of the purse will be. (The fold after the rounded end) And finish adhering the rest of the 5-1/2" x 9-1/2" piece to the 6" x 11" piece.
Adhere the 3-1/2" x 10" to the 4" x 10" and score at 1" and repeat at 1" intervals. Repeat for the other piece and fold these in accordion style until you have 5 folds on each one.
Take the 6" x 7" piece and score at 4" on the 7" side. This is the bottom and front of your purse so it should be 6" wide. Adhere the 3-1/2" x 5-1/2" on the side that now measures 6" x 4". This will be the front. Apply sticky tape to the 1" fold and adhere to the 1" fold on your 6" x11" piece making sure the fold is hidden inside the purse. This is you main purse piece and should look like an opened ended box with a handle.
Take the accordion pieces and apply sticky tape to the ends and adhere one end to the inside back of the purse and one to the inside front.
After the accordions are in place use a 1" circle punch or bigger or smaller and make half circle punches in the center top edge of each 4" x 5-3/4" card then apply sticky strip to the outer front edges and adhere to the accordion starting with the back fold first until all 4 cards are used and voila!
Decorate how you like and I used Velcro for the closure.

Hope this is good for you! Let me know if you find a problem.
