Medallion Script

Hello All! This card is my take of a card front I received as a swap at Convention last year from jilli.typepad.com. I added the ribbon and changed the background stamp to French Script (her's was Gracious Graffiti) and my choice of blue is a different blue than she used. You may think of something more it needs and if you do feel free to share with me. I love sharing ideas! This card is very simple to make and takes about 5 minutes from start to finish. It can used for a variety of occasions and we all know how handy a multi-tasking card can be!
Stamps: Medallion, French Script
Inks:
Ballet Blue, Basic Black, Ballet Blue Stampin' Write (edges of ribbon)
Paper:
Ballet Blue, Basic Black, Whisper White
Embellishments:
Organza Ribbon

Great Friend Card

Flipping through a catalog one day I noticed this rug that had these fabulous colors in it and I thought what a great looking card that would make, so today I put them in action and I just am not sure that the beautiful rug colors make such beautiful card colors. Maybe I just have the colors in the wrong places. I like the card but just not lovin' it. Poor card. I really do love you. (I really, really just like it but, please, keep it a secret!)
Stamps: Great Friend
Inks: So Saffron, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip
Paper: So Saffron, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, River Rock, Delicate Dots DSP
Embellishment: Small Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scalloped Oval Punch, Circle Fire Rhinestone Brad, Dusty Durango Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon

Organic Krafty Moss

My sister works in forestry and so I thought this card befitting of her. This is my clean and simple version of a great card that I saw somewhere out in the cyber waves and have no one to give credit to because I am such a surfing junkie that I get ideas and keep on catching other waves and if this is your cased design just comment and let me know and I will definitely give you the credit. Anyway ~ this card is fab.
Stamps: Organic Grace, Sweet Little Sentiments
Inks: Mellow Moss, Sahara Sand
Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Embellishments: Non SU Ribbon

Hey! I found her!! She's angelladcrockett on SCS. She has good stuff. Go look. I'm not kidding!

Petal Heart

This can be used as a candy holder or a flap-less purse. It's easy to make just eats up a lot of time. Maybe because I was making it for the first time made it a time eater, I don't know. I'll have to make another and see how long it takes with a premade one in my mind still. Anyhoo, it's the dies cuts from SU! and I think it's cute even if I should have made the handle Melon Mambo instead of Pretty in Pink. Ah, life lesson #17,542,908. Ready for the next one. =p
Stamps: Yummy
Inks: Mambo Melon
Paper: Patterns Pack DSP II,Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette DSP
Embellishment: Pretty in Pink Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Melon Mambo Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, Small Oval Punch Large Oval Punch, Heart to Heart Punch, Flower Folds Bigz XL Die, Petal Card Bigz Die, Circle Fire Rhinestone Brads, Soft Subtles Brad

Altered Note Pad

I love, love, love this note pad! And talk about simple, Simon. This stuff can be made in minutes and that is a PERFECT reason to love it. I got the little note pad at the dollar store and the pen is from an office store. *grin* LOVE IT!!!
Stamps: Love You Much
Inks: VeraMark, Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write (inside embossed heart)
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Chocolate Chip, Patterns Pack DSP II, Cottage Wall DSP
Embellishment: Sticky Stones, Square Rhinestone Brad, Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon, Pretty in Pink Grosgrain Ribbon, Pink Embossing Powder, Crystal Effects to glue the ribbon together at the bottom

Coaster Candy Box

A quick and fairly easy little candy box can be made with 2 coasters, a Big Shot and a little patience. I say little because I have practically NO patience and the heart cut out drove me nuts because I cut each one individually. I do not recommend this method! When I do it again I will have everything adhered and make ONE perfect cut and it will be fabulous and my anxiety level will be back to the level of a guinea pig in the lab again. I'm not sure that I like my color choices here but there they are. Do you want to know how I made this? Groovy. The instructions are:
Take a 4-1/4" x 8" piece of card stock and score it 1/2" all the way around and 3-3/4" from each end. Where the corners will meet, make a single cut along the long side creating a tab. In the center you will have to cut both scores so the box will open. Sticky Tape these tabs to the long side of the box. Adhere your choice of cardstock to 4"x 4" chipboard coasters and on the one you want for the top center and adhere lightly to your box so you can remove it and insert a piece of acetate for the window THEN it can be adhered permanently and decorated with the cut out heart if you choose. Adhere the bottom coaster. Add a pretty bow and you're finished! Oh, don't forget to put some chocolate in there! What good is a candy box without chocolate?!?
Stamps: All Holidays
Inks:VersaMark
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Cottage Wall DSP, Candy Lane DSP
Embellishment: Big Shot, Movers and Shapers Heart Die Cut, Crystal Effects (covering the sentiment), Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon

Branch Out

Unfortunately, I needed to make a sympathy card for a fellow stamper and to me the only color for a sympathy card is Soft Sky. There is deeper meaning to this card than just a bird sitting on a tree branch. You see, sometimes I have a need to inject artist interpretations into some of my creations and this card is a good example of my subtle displays. The 3 brads up top are meant to be an ellipsis and the bird looking out into nowhere is the wife left behind and feeling alone after her husband's death. I like this card even though it makes my heart sad.

Stamps: Branch Out
Inks: Basic Black, Soft Sky, VersaMark
Paper: Soft Sky, Basic Black (edges distressed), Kraft
Embellishments: Soft Sky Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Brads, Blue embossing powder

Get Well

A clean and simple card. Sometimes I just have to relax and go with a very simple and limited embellished design. It is plain but it is still recipient friendly and I like it. You are welcome to post your thoughts! Good or bad. I can take it. Really.

Stamps: Unknown SU! Sentiment, Fun Flowers
Inks: Pixie Pink, Green Galore, Summer Sun
Paper: Whisper White, Pixie Pink, Green Galore
Embellishments: Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die, Rhinestone Brads

I scored the card 1" from the bottom then again 3/4" higher.

FOCUS

Today I visited this blog - www.simplicitybylateblossom.blogspot.com - and she suggested listing one word for the year 2010. For example, I am choosing the word 'focus' because it seems one thing that I cannot seem to do now or for the last year. This word will come to mind for everything I do in 2010.

- Cleaning the house should be quicker (HA!) if I can just focus on one room at a time
- my cards should be born a little sooner if I just focus on the idea and get it on paper
- family life is about to change with my ss moving back in after a year and a half absence: focus on harmony <- a good word
- what do I want (more stamps!!) focus on would it make me or life better
- what are my needs (lots more STAMPS!!!) focus here on NEED
- my goals that I would like to meet before the year is up need a whole lot of focus
- FOCUS!

Now I need to commit (ooo, another good word) to this word and see what happens. Please use the comment box and post your word for the year because I would love to see your word and thoughts behind using it. Word up!

Inspired Calendar

Happy 2010, again! Of course we have to have a calendar for the new year! Here is my interpretation of a similar one on www.splitcoaststampers.com posted by akbride. I bought the little calendars online. I am such a sucker for bling. I love the tiny little library clips and HP ribbon slide. If it wouldn't ruin the thing to cover it in Dazzling Diamonds! Believe me. I totally WOULD!!! heh heh =]

Stamps:Inspired by Nature, Art by Design, Stems and Silhouettes jumbo wheel, non SU numbers
Inks: More Mustard, Chocolate Chip
Paper: More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, Autumn Vine DSP, Naturals Ivory
Embellishments: Mini Library Clip (these are SO cute!!!), Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, River Rock Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Hodgepodge Hardware, Non SU jewels and punch.

Butterfly Daisies

Ooh, I started the new year off fibbing to y'all! I said I would have a new post on the 2nd and here it is the 7th already!!! Shame on me. To make amends I am offering this gorgeous little bit of coral and olive. The Upsy Daisy image is embossed and the small butterflies are adhered with glue dots but I bent their wings up a bit to show movement. The large butterfly is adhered with a dimensional. Hope you like it!

Stamps: Upsy Daisy, Flight of the Butterfly
Inks: VersaMark, Old Olive
Paper: Cameo Coral, Old Olive, Whisper White, Basic Black
Embellishments: Bigz Die Beautiful Butterflies, Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, Black Embossing Powder

Happy New Year!

Seriously, 2010? I can remember when I purchased my first home and the pay off date was in 2011. I thought 30 years was a long time away but here we are in 2010 and still movin' on. Just a blink of the eye and it's 30 years later! Hey, I'm healthy and well blessed with a wonderful husband and family! I ate my cabbage and black eyed peas so I'm ready to hit this year head on. I hope it is the best year we've all had yet!
Now that I have my tree and all the decorations down (I find this a little depressing while I'm doing it. I love Christmas and the holiday season!) I have been working in my craft room and will post a couple of things for you tomorrow. For now, I am going to put on my lounge pants and watch a movie have some salty, buttery popcorn and a coke before I have to start being healthy again starting MONDAY! lol.
Happy New Year friends! I hope you all are healthy, happy and prosperous in this new year!
